Why Putting Prices On Your Emails Can Boost Your Conversion Rates

The Inbox Newsletter

Hey it's Max from The Inbox Newsletter.
Today I want to share an underrated but high-impact test you can run on your email designs.
Let’s get into it!

Showing The Price Directly In Your Emails
The tactic is pretty straightforward… put your product pricing directly inside of your emails.
If you open any random email in your inbox right now, you’ll most likely find that the price is completely missing from the design and the only way to find it is by tapping the CTA.
But that doesn't work for all audiences. Some people want to know the price in order to click
If they can’t see the price in the email itself, a lot of them aren’t going to bother clicking through to the product page just to find out.
They just scroll past the send and move on with their day…

We actually tested this ourselves on a few recent campaigns, and the version with the prices directly in the design pulled 50-100% more of the sales of the exact same send without the prices shown.
We’ve seen this same result show up across a few other brands we work with, so it’s one of the tests I always recommend running on a brand’s next few campaign sends…

AB Test Example
Places This Works Best In Your Emails
A standard product campaign with the price sitting right under the product name, same as it looks on your site.
A collection email with four products in a grid, each one priced so people can pick their lane.
A new product launch where the price sits under the drop so nobody has to guess what tier it’s in.
A sale email with the old price crossed out and the new one next to it, no percentage math required.
A BFCM send with everything priced, because your shopper has eight tabs open and is skimming.
A welcome email with prices next to your bestsellers, so email one teaches them your range.
A browse abandon email showing the price of the exact product they were looking at.
A cart abandon email with the price inside the dynamic block, right where they left off.
A post-purchase upsell where the add-on is priced right next to it, so $22 feels small after the $90 they just spent.
A winback email with current prices in the dynamic block, since they’ve been gone a while.
Pick a few of these, add one line of text under the product image, and leave the rest of the design exactly as it is.
Such an easy and quick thing to test. Try it out on your next campaign!
