The Simple Email Flow Strategy That’ll Print You More Money This Black Friday

The Inbox Newsletter

Hey it’s Max from The Inbox Newsletter.
If you like money and you're running Black Friday Cyber Monday (BFCM) promos, this might be the highest ROI thing you do this year.
A few small flow updates could be the difference between an okay sale and a record-breaking month.
Key Takeaways:
Don’t use your default pop-up and flows during BFCM, create seasonal-specific versions.
Reminder to run a 45-day phased BFCM offer schedule, not just one big weekend sale.
Set up five essential BFCM specific flows: Welcome, Site Abandon, Browse Abandon, Cart & Checkout Abandon, and Post-Purchase.
Use short flows, fast time delays, and lots of urgency.
Optimize for conversion, not clutter—make your offers the focal point.
Why BFCM Flows Matter More Than You Think
Every ecommerce brand gets flooded with site traffic during BFCM, but most are letting a chunk of that traffic walk away without converting.
Why? They don’t update or optimize their pop-ups or flows for the BFCM window.
This is your biggest opportunity of the year.
You need to make sure you have pop-up forms specific to the offer and flows with more urgency.
You need to build custom flows that speak to the moment, highlight the offer, and move fast. Y
our evergreen 10% off pop-up and standard welcome flow won’t cut it here.
Custom Pop-Up Forms = Explosive List Growth
Update your pop-up forms for each BFCM phase.
You're about to get more site traffic than any other time of year… this is your biggest opportunity to grow your email and SMS list.
Your pop-up should clearly feature your BFCM offer and ask for the user's email and phone number.
Obviously… they don’t need to opt in to get the deal but many will and you will grow your list.
Also, they will convert at a higher rate cause now you can hit them with daily email reminders and urgency + they can now receive abandonment flows.
Use a slightly pop-up for Early Access, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Gifting.
We’ve seen 32% opt-in rates with this.
That’s 17,000+ new subscribers in just 7 days. It prints.

5 Custom BFCM Flows You Need to Build (Or Update)
During BFCM, you can't just use the same flows you have year round…
We need to update our flows to highlight our special offers, be quicker, and have more urgency for maximum conversions.
Welcome Flow: When someone opts into our pop-up we want to highlight the offer and give some brand info
Site Abandon Flow: If someone browsed the site, we want to reel them back by mentioning the abandonment and highlight the offer / urgency
Browse Abandon Flow: If someone views a product and leaves, we want to send two quick emails showing exactly what they left behind with some objection handling and highlighting the offer.
Cart / Checkout Abandon Flows: For efficiency you can use the same emails for these flows by showing what the person left behind, highlighting the offer, and using extreme urgency.
Post-Purchase Flow: When someone buys, we want to send an immediate text-based thank you message from the founder while also pushing them to place another order to get ahead of gifting (you'd be surprised how many people buy from this).
Each of these flows should be short, urgent, and laser-focused on the BFCM offer.
Short Flows, Fast Time Delays, High Urgency
We really don't need to have flows with 3+ emails in them for BFCM.
Why? Because you should be sending 1-3 emails every day over the BFCM period… no need for extra flow emails.
Key Features of BFCM Flows:
1-2 emails in length
Short time delays (wait 30 minutes before first email and only hours in between emails)
Creatives outline the specific offer and have a lot of urgency
