The Perfect Welcome Email + 29 Free Editable Email Templates

The Inbox Newsletter

Hey it's Max from The Inbox Newsletter.

Your welcome email is the first impression a customer gets after giving you their email.

Most brands waste it.

They send a wall of text with a discount code buried somewhere in the middle.

Nobody reads it.

Here's a before and after I recently put together:

Smokeshow welcome email redesign

he text-based one says: "We're figuring this out. Here's a discount code somewhere."

The designed one says: "We're a premium brand. Here’s your reward for signing up."

Which one would make you want to buy?

Your welcome email sets the tone for the entire customer relationship.

If it looks like you threw it together in 10 minutes, that's what customers will think about your brand.

The Perfect Welcome Email:

Hero Section:
Include the discount code and CTA way up at the top of the email so the customer doesn’t need to scroll. Just a simple headline, intro the discount code, and include a big button.

Bridge Section:
Your middle section can be anything… but definitely something educational. For some brands it makes sense to do a founder message, other it makes sense to do an educational blurb about their product, etc. Use what you think is most important for your customer to know asap.

Product Section:
Feature your bestsellers or just your #1 bestseller if it makes up 75%+ of your sales. Make sure your product section has a big call to action to each individual product.
