40 minute long YouTube vids can be annoying… so this channel is just the most valuable 3-10 minute snippets!
I love Hormozi’s clips channel, so figured I would do it for myself.

Hey it's Max from The Inbox Newsletter.
Sometimes brand-name emails can start to feel stale in a subscriber's inbox after a while… But we always want to keep it fresh!
Which is why today I'm going to break down a tactic that keeps every send feeling completely different from the last.
Guarantee you'll want to steal this for your own account by the end of this newsletter 😉
Let's get into it!

Using Characters In Your Emails
The tale as old as time is that people want to buy from people... especially in the age of AI and faceless corporations.
So the question becomes how to keep your sends in a way that your subscribers actually connect with the brand.
And outside of your founder, there's a way to make your subscribers feel that human connection...
And that's by simply putting real people behind your emails.
Now, I understand some brands have a very limited amount of team members that can actually send from.
Which is why you can do the next best thing.
Using character emails.
Character emails are text-based sends from a specific character on your "team."
Here's a few you can check out:
Example 1:

Alex From The Warehouse Example
Example 2:

Austin From The Product Team
3 Reasons Why This Works
They build actual trust with your subscribers. With a real name behind the send, subscribers can actually take what you're saying seriously instead of feeling like they're being pushed another transactional promo.
They're a great pattern interrupt. Change the sender name to a new person and it hits differently in the inbox. "Megan, Customer Success" stands out way more than the same brand name subscribers have seen 50 times.
They unlock so many new angles for your brand. A named character has so much more to work with. They can share a personal story, hijack the account for a cheeky discount, drop a heads up on a launch, or lean into a tone the corporate brand voice never could. You get to have a real personality in your sends, and it's still associated with your brand at the end of the day! Win-win.
Some Ideas You Can Steal
Alex from the warehouse team giving a "we're almost sold out" heads up on a bestseller before Black Friday hits.
Austin from the product team dropping an insider preview on the upcoming holiday-exclusive release.
Daniel the founder dropping a personal Thanksgiving gratitude story, then slipping the Black Friday sale into the P.S.
Megan from customer success running a helpful gift-guide right before the Christmas shipping cutoff to make sure subscribers order in time.
Alice from marketing dropping a cheeky "I hijacked the account" Spooky Halloween flash discount send.
Clark, the owner's dog sending a Thanksgiving subscriber appreciation email straight from the office dog himself.
Pick a few real (or fake) people or characters on your team, give them a sender name and a personality, and let emails come from them.
Such an easy and fun thing to do. Try it out on your next campaign!
