An “active profile” is anybody who you can send emails to… by default, every profile in your list is active unless you “suppress” them inside your account.

Here’s a suppression segment you can copy-paste right now into Klaviyo:
Segment Name: Suppress - Unengaged 300 Day
Person can receive email because person is subscribed
Opened Email zero times in the last 300 days
AND Clicked Email zero times in the last 300 days
AND Placed Order zero times in the last 300 days
AND Ordered Product zero times in the last 300 days
AND Received Email is at least 10 over all time
This filters out people who’ve been given more than enough chances to engage and just haven’t.
They’re dead weight and they’re draining your wallet.
Steps to suppress these profiles:
Create the above segment and wait for the segment to populate all profiles.
Convert the segment to a “list”
Download the list as a CSV
Go to the “Profiles” tab in Klaviyo
Click “View Suppressed Profiles” in the top right part of the screen
Click “Import”
Manually drag in your suppression list
Steps to lower your Klaviyo bill:
Go to settings in Klaviyo
Click “Billing”
Click “Change Plan”
Lower yourself to the lowest plan they allow you to
Less Bloat = More Profit
Suppressing these profiles won’t hurt your revenue. It’ll help it.
