How To Customize Your Welcome Flow By Quiz Answer

The Inbox Newsletter

Hey it's Max from The Inbox Newsletter.
What if you could have your welcome flow speak EXACTLY to your customer’s main pain point they are looking to have solved?
Well, you can.
And pretty easily too…
Almost every high-performing brand is running some version of a quiz pop-up these days, and for good reason!
It's one of the highest-converting pop-up format right now…
Not to mention, subscribers are basically telling you what to sell them.
But most brands collect all that data and then send every subscriber the same basic welcome flow, which makes zero sense when every subscriber literally told you exactly how to sell them.
Today, I'm going to walk you through how to turn those quiz answers into a customized welcome flow so that you can get an easy 15-25% lift in conversions.
Let’s get into it.
1) Build your quiz pop-up
Quiz pop-ups ask a question first from a customer, such as "What problem are you trying to solve?" before asking for email.
This works great because it seems like a low barrier to entry, and we're not asking for email right off the bat, which is like asking someone to marry you on the first date.
You can build this in Klaviyo, but I recommend you use Alia for it (killer pop-up form platform we use for most of our 100+ brands).
Whether you build it in Klaviyo or Alia, you can easily tag people with a profile property based on what pain point they clicked in the quiz.

2) Split welcome flow paths by their quiz answer
When someone answers your quiz, all you have to do is split paths in your Klaviyo flow with a “conditional split” with each response.
Here’s how it should look…

3) Customize the first 2-3 emails to speak directly to their answer.
If someone told you their main problem is dry skin, the first email should be about dry skin.
If someone said their issue is post-workout recovery, the first email should be about recovery.
You'll be catering the content to what the subscriber actually cares about.

4) Merge everyone back into the same emails after those 2-3 emails.
Once you've hooked them with the personalized opener, the rest of the welcome flow can run as normal…
This will just help you with reducing workload so you don’t need full welcome flows by answer.
Personalization is the key in 2026.
We typically see a 15-25% lift in conversions from this. Nothing insane, but for a brand that's scaling hard, this can have a big impact!
Now go audit your welcome flow and start plugging in those quiz answers. It’s a very simple and easy win…
