Easy Hack To Boost Engagement During Promos

The Inbox Newsletter

Hey it's Max from The Inbox Newsletter.
Today I'm sharing one of my favorite tactics to keep sale emails from feeling repetitive…
It's a great way to keep the offer visible while letting the rest of the email actually build brand story and trust.
Let's get into it!

Call Out Banners
If you're running any kind of longer promo, call-out banners are hands down the easiest way to keep every send from feeling like the last one.
To pull this off, all you have to do is slap a small banner at the very top of every email in the promo with the offer + code in one clean line.
Something like:
"20% off with code LAUNCH"
"Get 20% off your first order"
"Your 50% welcome offer is ready"
Then let the rest of the email be whatever content angle you want to run…

Example emails with a call-out banner at the top.
So let's say you're running a 7-day BFCM promo…
After your first 1-2 sale announcement emails, the rest of the sequence can just be regular campaigns that lead with brand story, product education, founder notes, or any content angle you want. But just plop in your promo banner on top!
Why does this work so well?
Because subscribers see the offer within a second of opening the email, but they get to actually READ the email for the content it delivers instead of another "SALE SALE SALE" pitch.
That way the offer stays visible AND your emails stay fresh across the entire promo.
It's a win-win for you sending fresh content during promotional periods and your customers not feeling fatigued from receiving too many sales messaging in your emails…
Where To Actually Use It
The call-out banner works pretty much anywhere you want people to know your sale or promo is running but don't want it dominate the entire email.
Some of our favorite placements:
Welcome flows: keep the welcome discount visible in every email without needing to lead every subject line with the discount
Abandonment flows: reinforce the welcome discount or a special offer while the body of the email focuses on the abandoned product
Mid-sale campaigns: run different content angles across the promo (brand story, product education, founder note, etc.) while the offer stays visible at the top
Product launches: keep the launch offer visible while every email leads with a different launch angle
Try adding one to your next campaign and see what the data says!
BTW, I share insights like this every single day in my private community which you can find here.

Notes:
I love for text-based emails putting the call-to-action offer way up at the top under the logo so people can see it! Very simple and effective
