Hack #1: Mystery Discount in Checkout Abandonment
Want to revive the hottest leads on your list?
Try this: send a mystery discount to anyone who ditches at checkout.
The easiest way to get them back to checkout is to give them a mystery in their checkout for them to find.
They’ve already shown intent… a mystery element gets them curious, re-clicking, and buying.
Here’s how Dr. Squatch did it: Hey, we noticed you left something behind… We’ve got a mystery surprise for you 👀
It doesn’t need to be huge. Just enough to create a sense of “what’s waiting for me?”
This works insanely well to spike engagement rates and pull people back to checkout.

Hack #2: Move the “X” on Your Pop-Up Form
This one is stupid simple but it works every time we test it.
Move the “X” (close button) from the top corner to under the CTA button.
Why?
Because most shoppers are conditioned to instantly smash that top corner of a pop-up without reading a single word.
When the “X” is at the bottom, it forces people to read the offer first. And when they read, they convert.
This single tweak has improved pop-up conversion by up to 2x+ in some brands we work with (look at the example below)

Hack #3: Use Polls in Campaign Emails
Email polls are a secret weapon for CTR.
It could be something simple like, “Are floral scents manly”
What Dr. Squatch did this brilliantly:
They tracked click data inside Klaviyo…
→ If someone clicked “yes”, they were redirected to floral scent PDPs.
→ If “no”, they saw bestsellers without any flowers.
And then segmented their list based on what link they clicked and marked them as interested or uninterested in floral scents
It’s a brilliant way to drive clicks, segment passively, and increase conversions all at once.

Hack #4: Drop Scientific Studies in Your Emails
Trust = conversions.
One of the fastest ways to build that trust is to reference real, legit studies in your campaigns.
Example: “Did you know X ingredient is proven to reduce skin inflammation by 36% according to a 2022 clinical study?”
Then tie it directly back to your product.
Don’t make the mistake of using fluffy, generic copy. Show proof. Back it up. And your emails will hit harder.
